ABOUT SIMONE
Described as 'stunning', 'a vocal sensation' and 'the best that modern rock has to offer', the artist known only as 'Simone' has swept an entire community off of its feet and through the doors of the next evolution of modern rock. Built around her edgy 'Plant-esque' vocal style, Simone's new album 'Built To Last' promises to be an award-winning, industry shaking collection of music.
Starting out as a Detroit-based underground musician, fronting
the still-popular and heavily played industrial band, 'Teknotika',
Simone cut her teeth in some of the best venues around the
world. Originally signed to legendary record label 'Resistance',
Simone along with producer Gary Martin toured the US as well as
Denmark, Holland and the UK. Their single 'Universal Love'
remains an underground hit from the states to Scotland while
'Take Me' continues to spin in the hearts and minds of New
York's now defunct 'Sound Factory' fans and DJ's.
'Built To Last' will be Simone's fourth solo release in as many
years and critics are already requesting advance copies. While a
February 2009 street date is the official launch, three of
Simone's tracks are now available for download on websites such
as MySpace and Reverb Nation.
An award winning songwriter, Simone proves that she is capable
of sustaining a positive track record, however she sought the
assistance of producer/composer/arranger Bryan Kezer to assist
in the songwriting process.
"I knew that I had some really killer ideas for this album", she
mentioned. "but I wanted to make sure that I was going to
capture a very specific sound and style - you know, that's why I
asked Bryan to help out".
As soon as Bryan signed on, the songwriting team began demoing
the tracks.
"We put together, I don't know, somewhere around twenty songs
and started cutting them at Lauberland Studios in Deltona"
Simone continued, "and all in all, we had a good vibe going with
what Andy (Harrington) and Aaron (Pearson) brought to the
table."
Armed with these demos, Bryan then went to producer/engineer
Bobby Day and asked for feedback and assistance.
"Bobby just knew - immediately - what we needed to do with our
demos." stated Bryan. "He's got a magic ear and great musical
intuition - everything he's done and added really makes this a
great record."
Planning a metro-rush around the greater Orlando area, Simone's
schedule throughout the remainder of the year remains tight.
Between rehearsing with her band, finalizing tracks in the
studio, shooting music videos and preparing for a supporting
tour including festival appearances next year Simone's future is
well-written.
